"This was my favorite one [Fitz event] yet.

​

We had a rush at the door and Liam, our check-in person, handled it like a pro! 

​

We couldn't have done it without him and every single volunteer who showed up and helped make the day happen.

​

The most amazing part was seeing youth shelters bring kids to shop with us. By reaching farther than we intended when we created Fitz, we were able to welcome so many more kids through our doors. 

​

LGBTQ+ kids and allies came through our doors and got to shop for FREE.

​

Seeing kids from different places come through the doors, grab the things they wanted or needed, and shop side by side was something really special. 

​

No one cared what anyone identified as, or who they loved.

​

They were all just kids.  All on the same level. All welcome.

​

We also had Bergen County Alternatives to Domestic Violence there in case anyone wanted or needed resources. 

​

Thank you to everyone who donated. Every bag of clothes, pair of shoes, hygeine item, accessory, and every dollar, helped to make this happen.

​

And to our volunteers--thank you for showing up, helping out, and giving as much of yourselves. 

​

We truly could not do this without you. 

​

To my wife, who is alongside me with this crazy, wild idea that we have an abundance in this world--Ashleigh, you held us down all week while I dedicated every extra minute I had to Fitz. I couldn't do this without you.

​

Mid event, this boy came up to me.

"Why do you do this?"

I said, "Honestly..."

Someone spoke about my family poorly and that made me angry at a level I couldn't live at. So I used that passion for good.

And now, 6 years later, you are here.

​

This is why we created Fitz.

​

Thank you for helping us make sure every kid knows they are welcome, they matter, and they deserve to have what they need.
