We have many ministries and community programs to let you get involved. These serve as an opportunity for you to explore your faith and
spirituality while making a difference in another person's life. They also serve as a great way to connect with new friends and find that we are place where you can belong.
Boards and Committees
We have four Boards: Trustees, Deacons, Christian Education and Outreach and a variety of Committees for you to get involved in. Our Committees include the Stewardship, Music, Mission, Fundraising, and the Sunshine Committee.
Children and Youth Ministries
We have a variety of programs for children and teenagers. Our children meet weekly on Sundays for Church School during worship. Our teenagers meet for Confirmation.
We also lead and chaperone a non-church youth group for LGBTQ teens and their allies called the Rainbow Cafe. They meet on a monthly basis for either a dance or discussion nights followed by games and karoeke. For more information, visit the Rainbow Cafe section of this website.
During Sunday worship, lay leaders participate in the worship service in various ways: leading the liturgy, offering prayers, and reading the Scripture. Persons wishing to participate in this vital aspect of our Sunday worship need only speak with the Chairperson of our Board of Deacons or the Pastor.
Religious Education & Spiritual Development
We offer a variety of opportunities for religious education for the entire family. We offer faith development classes for all ages. We also have a variety of Adult Education activities in our Small Group ministries that includes midweek Bible studies, book clubs, and midweek discussion groups throughout the year. We include an online opportunity called Facebook Church, an online devotional that meets weekly on Facebook. We are always trying new ways to learn and grow in our faith. In these ways, you can be confident that we're interested in your spiritual growth.
Small Group Ministry
Join us for our Small Groups. Our groups are a Men's Group, a Women's Group, Sophie's Porch Philosophy Group, a handyman fix-it club, hiking experiences, and a Wednesday Night Bible Study. We are also looking to create new groups. We meet for 2-3 months at a time 3-4 times a year as we study various topics and grow in our faith and friendship with each other.
Sojourners Prayer Ministry
This ministry is a dedicated group of church members who meet every other month to pray for the needs of the congregation and provide prayerful reflection. This ministry prays for anyone who requests prayers for healing, comfort in facing death, and the family after the passing of a loved one. Also, the ministry also pray for world peace, church growth, special intentions, and joyful blessings. On average, the ministry has a list of about 50-75 people that each participant prays for on a daily basis.
The Sojourners will be meeting during the 2016-2017 year on in the Virla Room, or elsewhere when determined:
