We have many programs and ministries to let you get involved as you meet new friends as well as opportunities to explore your faith and spirituality.
Artists Circle
Meeting
the second Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., the
artist's support group is a place where artists meet to take
and do art together, share suggestions and ideas, and to build
friendships. Artists may work on their own or in a group. During each
session, the artists will gather together to share and discuss each
other's work. For more information, you may contact Kathy Lindner at
kathylindner123@yahoo.com.
Art Exhibitions
Periodically,
we host unique art displays from our own artists workshop as well as
other local artists in the community and from the students at the
Cresskill High School. We leave the art work up for a week or two to
give the artists an opportunity to have their work displayed and
recognized.
Community Concerts
From time to time, we offer various concerts open to the public. We have music ranging from classical to chamber music to special soloists from Manhattan perform.
Community Ministry and Outreach
Throughout the church year and practically once a month, we host various activities that seek to offer unique programs to our community that offers a sense of fun, comraderie, and artistic license. At various times of the year, we have poetry and open mic nights, various concerts, art exhibits and classes, as well as our regular monthly writers and artists groups.

Fairs and Bazaars
At
several days throughout the year, our church hosts a variety of church
fairs and bazaars. From the Strawberry Festival to sales from our
White Elephant to the Palm Sunday Sale, we provide the church and
community an opportunity to eat, fellowship, and get to know one
another. We also have homemade items for sale to include stained-glass
items, crafts, and afghans and scarfs. Monies collected support the
church as well as local charities.
Girl Scouts of America
Each
week, local GSA troops 624, 635, and 1141, from the borough of
Cresskill, meet to offer its youth an opportunity to install the values
and comraderie associated with team building, community service, and
friendship. Each troop meets once a week on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday
from roughly 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the fellowship hall.
Mission Committee
A new committee has been organized to help coordinate, promote, and oversee mission projects in the church. Also, this committee provides opportunities for financial gifting to local charities who provide care and support. Due to a generous donation, our Mission Committee will be able to offer assistance for years to come through an endowment set up to provide such support.
Sojourners Prayer Ministry
We are a small dedicated caring group who meet every other
month for prayerful reflection. We are
each on our own spiritual growth journey and we share our time praying for the
needs of others. We pray for anyone who
requests prayers for healing, comfort in facing death, and the family after the
passing of a loved one. We also pray for
world peace, church growth, special intentions, and joyful blessings. We have a list of about 50-75 people that
each of us prays for each day.
We also share in our own worship service, learning new ways
to pray through breath prayers, music, and journaling. we would invite anyone interested to walk
with one of the members, join us for a meeting, or to share your requests for
prayers. Sunshine Ministry
This newly organized outreach effort keeps in contact with its members by sending birthday and 'get well soon' cards and notifies the congregation of special announcements from the lives of the congregation's membership.

Religious Education
We offer a host of opportunities for religious education for the entire family. We have programs for youth to include church school before worship, children's time during worship, Vacation Bible School during the summer, and Confirmation Class for youth. We also have Adult Education that includes midweek spiritual studies, Bible studies, book clubs, and after church discussion groups throughout the year.
Ladies Aid
Older than our congregation itself, the Ladies Aid began as a social group for ladies in the late 1800s. Eventually becoming part of our congregation since most of the ladies were in our congregation, the Ladies Aid was and continues to be a social group dedicated to acts of charity and kindness for the town of Cresskill, NJ through contributions as well as making handcrafted items to sell.

Movie Nights
On
the second Sunday evening of every month, we host a movie night with
soft drinks and popcorn to whomever wants to enjoy a good movie. We
generally show movies that just made it to DVD; some have a religious
theme, some do not. But in every showing, we have a wonderful time of
fellowship and conversation.
Party of Two
For
pre-preschool aged children from 18 months to 36 months, parents and
children meet three days a week from 9:00am to 10:30am in the
Undercroft for a time of play and socializing.
Pounds Off Club for men
Meeting
twice a month, a group of men wanting to lose 10-20 lbs. meets to
encourage and educate one another. We also meet to plan group
activities and share meal preparation tips.
Originally called Amy's Treasure Room, we have a flea-market style room in our church basement with household goods for sale. Opened periodlically throughout the year, we have items marked and priced to sell, which means you can get dishes and vases for $1. You will find that we have everything from dishes to stereos to books. We do not, however, sell clothes or furniture. To find out the dates as to when the White Elephant will be open, please call the church office.
Writers Group
As
an ecumenical outreach ministry celebrating individual's creative
gifts, we sponsor a Writers Group that meets the first Tuesday of each
month at 8:00pm in the church's fellowship hall. It is open to persons
of all faiths - or no faith - from throughout Bergen County and the
surrounding areas. We offer what we consider an informal "workshop in
progress," where all attending will have the opportunity to read and
discuss their poems, as well as short stories, essays, or parts of
longer projects (such as novels or memoirs), or just to listen to
others. The program is free and open to the public. For more
information, please contact Henry Hecht at hrh15@columbia.edu or by
calling 201-750-7770.
For contact information about any or all of these groups, please call the church office at 201-568-0608 or email office@cresskillucc.org.
